Nikon is building up the D-series with a newly released D7000 DSLR camera. It is with many new and improved features including a whole new DX-format CMOS sensor with 16 megapixels. This new image sensor is much more sensitive and delivers a basic ISO-range of 100-6400 ISO and can be increased up to 25600 ISO. D7000 must be a good choice for both photographs and videos as it also supports HD video recording.
Unboxing items include a Nikon D7000 DSLR Camera, battery pack, a battery charger, a data cable (USB), an AV/USB cable, an AV cable, a strap, a CD-ROM and a user's guide.
The 16 megapixels resolution is processed by the new and fast EXPEED 2 processor. This powerful processor not only delivers high-resolution photos, but also supports Full HD video (1080p). The video clips are recorded in MPEG4 H.264 compression and can be enhanced by connecting an external stereo.
The camera is equipped with a nice optical viewfinder with almost 100% image coverage and 0.94 magnifications which is quite a luxury during photography. It is also equipped with a 3-inch display with 170 degree viewing angle. Buttons and functions keys are well arranged.
Nikon D7000’s Autofocus system is renewed and made up of 39 focus points, including 9 cross-type sensors in the center, such spec gives accurate and fast focusing. It is also possible for D7000 to shoot in High Speed Continue mode with 6 frames per second.
There is a small digital display on the top of the camera to show details of your settings.
With such a powerful HD video-shooting ability, D7000 certainly has a Movie button to let you capture videos with just a tap. Other common buttons are located near the display for you to make settings easily.
The Control Dial is on the top left. In fact it is a double control ring. You can see two little light nearby and they will light up to show which modes are in use.
You can transfer pictures and videos through a number of ways including AV output, USB and HDMI. You can also port an additional microphone when filming movies; and GPS is available in case you are in other countries.
The Nikon D7000 is a good DSLR camera for amateur photographers. It is a camera that has many camera-settings to offer high resolution photos. It also supports Full HD video. You would want to upgrade to it if you have a beginner-level DSLR camera, or if you are an enthusiastic compact camera photographer you may also want to own the Nikon D7000.
