With the similar physical dimensions to the previous Diamond, but have some remarkable features added on its UI. With the second incarnation, HTC is going to proceeding its success of the first, and to hit the market again? Read on…
The package comes with a Battery, a charger, a handsfree, a USB cable, two styluses, CD and Manual.
Big Screen plus all-metal frame that surround the display and covers the upper part of the Diamond2 body. Diamond2 got a really nice visual upgrade with its excellent design.
Diamond2 got 4 mechanical keys which set in line under the screen with 2 calls keys, back key the Home key.
The brand new feature in the Diamond2- the Zoom Bar which is at the bottom of the screen. It does the job of previous diamond touch-sensitive scroll wheel. For zoom in and out on images, web pages and messages, and even in the camera. Actually, the bar does better than the wheel and is easier to handle.
At the back of Diamond2, You may see the camera lens at the top which is surrounded by the brushed metal plate. The only downside of its design is that it made of steel with the smooth surface which easy to leave an imprint of your fingerprint.
Diamond has improved its camera’s megapixel size, from a 3.2 to a 5-megapixel.What’s up with HTC and camera keys? Diamond2 doesn’t have it on board. Actually, we prefer hardware one rather than software shutter keys. But, after a trial on it, we find out that beside auto focus, you can focus the image through pointing on the screen with your finger. Wow, fascinating!
You have to remove the cover to slot the microSD card. And it has no problem with handling a 16GB microSD card. Compared with previous Diamond with no card slot but 4GB on-board storage, Diamond2 got a great improvement.
The microUSB port located at the bottom of Diamond2.
User interface of Diamond2. This time, it’s hard to see anything remotely Windows Mobile-like in, making it much more of a useful tool than ever beforehand. And the TouchFLO 3D for finger sweep navigation is upgraded in both features and response here.
It is the setting page of Diamond2. All the setting in the device can be seen by click on the all settings.
Diamond2 is running on 288 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. Compared with the previous Diamond with 192 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM only. Diamond2 got a great improvement here!
Diamond2 comes complete with a built-in GPS receiver. On Google Maps, you can zoom in and out with the zoom bar here.
Diamond2 with an open browser here.
There are three styles of virtual keypads for you to choose from: One is phone style, 20 keys QWERTY keyboard which is for big thumbers and the full QWERTY keyboard layout here.
The previous model got a 2.8-inch touchscreen with three rows in the user interface. This time around the Diamond2 has increased its screen presence with 3.2-inch full screen touch display and done away with the large panel. The screen now takes up almost the whole front of the handset, making it a true “full” touchscreen display.
Compared with the Previous Diamond, Diamond2 got a plain and simple back. They look similar.
Diamond2 is almost 2mm thicker than its predecessor.
An important upgrade here is the people centric communication approach. The individual conversation history of contacts whether voice, text or emails were used can be easily viewed from the contact card or the in-call screen during a phone conversation. Generally, HTC are doing a great job with its Diamond2.
HTC has added two new models to its Touch series of smartphones: the HTC Touch Diamond2 and the HTC Touch Pro2.We have just finished the Diamond2 few days ago. Now, the long waiting one, one of HTC's new flagship devices, Touch Pro2 is also on my desk. Wow… How excited I am? The name lack imagination, the handsets get some spiffy make over and upgraded its features that bring a people-centric approach to mobile communication. See how powerful it is!
It’s comes with a battery, an extra stylus, an AC adapter, a stereo headset, a USB cable, a leather case, screen protector, CD and User’s guide.
Touch Pro2 is noticeably heavier (178.5 g vs. 165 g) and larger (116 X 59.2 X 16.65 mm vs. 102 X 51 X 18.05 mm) than the original Touch Pro. Of course, the bigger screen makes the device looks bigger and elegantly designed with softer edges compared with the previous one. Can’t believe that it is in the same family of Touch Pro judge by its appearance. It looks like TyTN II more than Touch Pro.
It features a large 3.6-inch WVGA (800x480 pixel) touchscreen display which got only 2.8-inch WVGA (480 x 640 pixels) on the previous one. It’s the biggest screen that has ever seen on HTC recently. Even the newest Diamond2, it got 2.8-inch only. Also, Touch Pro2 paired with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
The buttons below the display: a total of 4 keys share the limited space. But they are easy to press with a good tactile feedback.
The bottom side hosts the combined miniUSB slot and an audio jack.
At the back, you may see the mute button and the 3.2 megapixel camera. And there is a new added function: While a call or conference call is in progress, you can turn on the speakerphone by simply placing the device face down.
To use the hardware keyboard, slide the screen panel up to reveal the keyboard. And the power bottom is on the left top of the device.
Once you slide it up, you can tilt the display to as much as 130 degrees up, so that you can lay the device comfortably on your desk and get perfect visibility of the screen.
As well as, the spacious lettering on the keypad on the Touch Pro2. You are able to tap messages quickly and comfortably, despite our big thumbs. Touch Pro2's raised keys are spaced apart and are large for a mobile phone. They also click when you have tapped a letter so you know the letter has been typed.
You have to remove the stylus and then remove the back cover to insert the microSD card. The microSD card slot is located on the upper part of the exposed right panel.
It is using HTC’s latest TouchFlo 3D interface, which allows finger-touch access to the most important functions such as favorable contacts, text message, e-mail and more. It brings more relevant information to the forefront.
On the Start screen here.
You can use the hardware keyboard to enter text. Another option is to use either the on-screen Full QWERTY or Phone Keypad. These two on-screen keyboards are both large enough and finger-friendly.
On the Google map here.
The Touch Pro2 is the predecessor to the HTC Touch Pro with many improvements, and builds on the success of the popular Windows Mobile device with Zoom Bar as Diamond2 does. However, it adds HTC’s Straight Talk technology, which claims to improve the speakerphone quality using asymmetric speakers and advanced noise suppression with full duplex acoustics, which is doesn’t appear on Diamond2. At the same time, Diamond2 got the 5 megapixel camera whereas the Touch Pro2 only got 3.2 megapixel. They are both nearly perfect but lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack for the music lovers. The Touch Pro2 is a quality device and it makes the choice between Touch Pro2 and Diamond2 more difficult.

Sony Ericsson’s W995 is at the top of the company’s game feature-wise, blending in Walkman and Camera phone. Rivaling against Nokia's N86, what does W995 have in its pocket to go up against the new offspring of one of the world’s best-selling series? We are about to find out.
The package includes the phone itself, a battery, a charger, a data cable, a stereo handsfree and a user’s guide.
The phone is an achiever in terms of how compact it is. It measures 97 x 49 x 15 mm and fit into any pockets easily. It weighs only 113g, gleefully portable. However, the metallic body feels expensive and solid in hands. The 2.6-inch QVGA screen is the top notch in the Sony Ericsson feature phones portfolio. It delivers even under broad daylight.
The design of the navigation pad is pretty hip. The metallic circular design resembles a turntable which fits the Walkman theme perfectly.
The keypad is satisfactory with ample space between keys to make sure you hardly mispress them even when you are not looking.
This is the view of the top. We have the stereo speakerphone and the 3.5mm audio jack. (cue the chorus of angels please!) 3.5MM JACK, Sony Ericsson finally realizes their sin and repents!!!!
The phone has an expandable memory up to 16GB by M2. What you see in the picture is the indication of where the M2 slot is. Yes, just the indication, not the slot itself. You still have to remove the back cover to get there.
At the back, you can also find a kickstand which is good when you have no helping hand to help take your pictures. But you have to release the kickstand every time you want to remove the back cover.
W995 not a Cyber-shot device but it can come neck in neck with the series flagship C905. It is 8.1 megapixel with LED flash and autofocus, complemented by face detection, geotagging, exposure metering, macro photograph and so on.
When you slide open the phone, you will find a monogram of dots which looks cool. Sony Ericsson does pay attention to details.
There’s in an accelerator installed and the display can rotate automatically, not news.
The music control is a decent surprise. You can access your music player here without going through the menu. The keys illuminate when music is on.
You can choose between three menu interfaces. This is the classic one.
The handset is equipped with GPS and you can find your routes with the help of Google Maps.
Sony Ericsson has upped her ante for this one: an easy-to-organize music player with outstanding sound quality, an 8MP camera, WiFi compatibility and GPS. It can easily overshadow its peers under the same roof of Sony Ericsson.
