Nokia 6260 slide Unboxing Review
Nokia 6260 slide is nice pleasant surprise for me. It represents the epitome of an s40 phone to date feature-wise, Being the first s40 device equipped with WiFi, GPS, a 5MP camera and a HVGA display, we will look further into it to see if it really matches up my expectation.
The box comes with the phone itself, a battery, a handsfree set, a charger, a Data cable, an AV cable, a CD ROM and a User’s guide.
I quite like the simplistic design of 6260 slide. The streamline finish, the metal rim and the plastic plate harmonize perfectly together. It reminds me of 6210 Navigator on the outlook, except for a few subtle changes like the navigation cluster.
The phone comes in two different colors, sophisticated black and sleek beige. I personally think the black one looks sleeker for a plastic finishing.
One of the applauded features of 6260 slide is the 360° navi-key, but don’t expect you can scroll around the clock like with your iPod. It works more like a 8-way pad.
The number pad is gorgeously designed. Although the tiles are not really big, but they are pretty sensitive and prominently separated. Slim chance for wrong presses, even with single-hand operation.
The back cover is definitely a design highlight for me as it looks very space-age with the special contour (tho’ my mates complain it can’t be placed flat on the desk). You will find the GPS button on the left side of the phone in this pic.
The camera is 5MP one with auto focus and LED, it’s quite impressive for a Nokia slider as far as I remember it’s the first Nokia slider to equip with a 5 megapixeller. (but it will soon be taken over by N86 which is a slider which has a 8MP camera)
The SD slot in under the back cover, but you don’t have to remove the battery for it.
At the bottom, you will find the 2.5mm jack, the charger socket and the USB slot
The camera is pretty user-friendly with several resolutions to choose from. But it takes quite a noticeable period of time to save the pic.
This is a pic taken without flash. It looks a bit out of focus.
The pic taken with flash looks absolutely stunning however.
In conclusion, Nokia 6260 slide has shown improvement of s40 platform. Although running without Symbian OS, it provides GPS (a breakthrough to bring the technology to mass market), Wi-Fi and HSDPA, HVGA display. You will not be disappointed if you have been a fan of s40 Nokia phone.
