Samsung cross over with Adidas ~ The F110 miCoach

Samsung cross over with Adidas to make a phone package for sports. They branded it as MiCoach. When I got this product on hand, I was surprised with its extra large box. It looks like someone is sending me an Adidas Samsung Jersey. Anyway, in the package, the phone is not the focus, the rest of the gadgets are. Let’s check them out.

Inside the big white box, we have the small phone box with the F110 phone, a battery, a charger, a sport type water resist design hang-on-your-ear earphone, a heart beat detector (not shown in picture), a hang-on-your-shoe pedometer sensor (not shown in picture), an arm band, CD, and manual.

The F110 is a slider phone made by rubberish plastic material. The phone and all of the peripherals are designed for sport use that is sweat resist and easy to clean up.

Closer look at the material and the keys, the extra rough navigation pad is made for use when your hand is totally sweated in the middle of your work out.

2 mega pixel camera at the back of the phone. Well I don’t like people taking a camera phone into the gym, especially into the shower.

Rough surface rubber at the back with the Adidas logo.

This unit I tested is an European version. The keypad is clean, big and sensitive.

These are the fun stuff. The heart beat sensor in the box, the pedometer sensor in the box, and the arm band with zipper opened that we can slide in the phone.

The interface to monitor your heart beat and steps.

The pedometer sensor and the phone. To use the sensor, you can hook it up on your shoe between your shoe laces. I think this design is practical but just a little bit dangerous when you will need to jog outdoors.

The included ear hanging in-ear earphones. I found this pretty good. I think buying a Sony earphone like this will easily cost you $50.

Too bad that no one in the office would volunteer to try it on for testing. Everyone are fat belly office dwellers!! So does it really work? We don’t know. May be it is not the point anyway.
