Motorola Rokr E8 Product Review

I have got some pictures for the Motorola Rokr E8. I think the phone looks fun, so I ask the company passing it to me for a little unboxing and took some shots.

As all Moto boxes, Motorola spend a lot of thinking in the package designs. (May be it is just me, I think they should spend more budget and time on phones)

The Motorola Rokr E8 comes in with a battery, a charger, a USB cable, a
handsfree (3.5mm jack) a pouch (with red Moto logo on it), CDs, and Manual.

This is the beginning of the funny shots. Before turning on, it looks like a
black plastic brick.

This is the fun part of the funny shots. After turning on, everything appears on
the phone. It looks like a normal phone now.  (It sort of like the Strike Gundam thing, if you know what I mean)

This is even better. After switching to the music player mode, all the buttons and keys became to show up as a music player.  Comparing to the three pictures, you will be impressed about the creativity. Also the jog dial navigation (similar to the ipod thing) is sensitive and easy to use.

It supports micro SD but you have to take out the back cover and the battery
first.

The screen is sharp and clear. It is in horizontal form 2 inches 320 x 240
pixels.

Another look.

As a music phone, a 3.5mm jack is definitely required. Use your best headphone for it if you feel like it.

The handsfree comes with the package is attached to a standard earphone.

At last, the jog dial can be used to do fast forward and rewind to control music
play. Again very similar to the ipod design. I am not sure if it is that useful,
will there be a lot of people love to listen to music from the middle of it?
Well, may be.

As for the sound quality, music getting through the provided earphones is good. May be it will be even better with better headphones. The last thing to be mentioned is that, when the buttons is pushed, the phone will give haptic responds. Actually a very subtle vibration. Well, it feel real and good that way.
